I’m Donna Plunkett, founder of Nia (said 'nee ah') Consulting, a coaching business based in Perth, Western Australia (WA). I work with emerging leaders, managers and frontline leaders who want to develop their leadership, improve performance and lead with impact.

My Story

Get to Know Me
I didn’t start in coaching. I started in operations designing and implementing remote community projects across the northwest of Western Australia, case management, and our family enterprise in manufacturing, tourism, and construction. This experience gives me an understanding of real‑world pressure, competing priorities, and what it takes to get things done.
​
My passion to see people grow and be the best they can be pulled me toward a different path: What actually drives people? What creates satisfaction at work? What makes teams effective? That led to an undergraduate degree in psychology and professional training in coaching (ICF ACC), Human Synergistics LSI, DatadrivesInsights.com and NLP.
​
Over the past several years I’ve worked in corporate leadership development, and culture optimisation consulting, supporting managers, senior leaders and executives across resources, care and health, local government, finance, construction, and research.
Coaching has also connected me with leaders around the world, including South Africa, Trinidad, India, China, the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Croatia, and Singapore, which keeps my perspective broad and grounded. This is one of the unexpected gifts of coaching that I treasure.

I come from a family of big thinkers and entrepreneurs and I bring that mindset to my work.
Outside coaching, I’m a board member of Mentor It Forward, I work with my own coach and I keep investing in my development – from neuroscience and leadership workshops to the gym, sauna, and a local community choir. I believe the best coaches keep growing themselves, and I live by that.
